Airports - Roatan has an International Airport in Coxen Hole with jet service.  Direct flights are available from Miami, Houston, New Orleans, and other cities in the Americas. Miami and Houston are gateway cities with a direct, 1 hour and 45 minute flights to Roatan's International Airport

Airlines - Airlines providing international air travel to Roatan include TACA, Continental, Jet Blue from Toronto, Canada and beginning March 4, 2006, Delta Airlines. TACA has the most international flights to and from Roatan.  Leaving on Saturday from Houston, direct to Roatan your best choice is Continental.  Leaving on Sunday from Miami, direct to Roatan choice is TACA.  If the your carrier does not have connections that you can make in Miami or Houston, then consider going to the mainland of Honduras from another US or international airport to either San Pedro Sula or Tegucigalpa on the mainland of Honduras via American Airlines, Continental, TACA, Jet Blue or, beginning March 2006, Delta. There are inexpensive connecting flights into Roatan from LaCeiba via Islena and Atlantic

Special Note - TACA has reduced the total weight allowance on baggage per person.  You can check TACA's new luggage requirements here. You can also check Continental's baggage requirements here. TACA's normal telephone reservation group and TACA's web site are not coordinated.  If you see a fare on the TACA web site but cannot seem to get it on line, call TACA's "Web Help Desk" at 1-800 880-2560. Extensions 2664, 2418, or 2626 Monday to Friday 10 AM till 6 PM EST and ask for the same fare.  The regular TACA reservation group won't have the special fare.
